19.01.1925. Blues pianist Henry Gray was born in Kenner, Louisiana.

19.01.1933. The Georgia Browns (Buddy Moss, vocals, harmonica; Fred McMullen & Curley Weaver, guitars) recorded "Next Door Man" for ARC. Song was not released on the label.

19.01.1934. Laurens Hammond patented his invention, Hammond organ.

19.01.1934. Drummer and harmonica player, Willie “Big Eyes” Smith was born in Helena, Arkansas.

19.01.1942. American Blues guitarist and harmonicist, Joe Johnson was born in Independence, LA.

19.01.1943. Blues and rock singer Janis Joplin was born in Port Arthur, Texas.

19.01.1945. Louis Jordan recorded for the first time Fleecie Moore's future Blues standard "Caldonia" on Decca Records.

19.01.1970. T-Bone Walker disciple, guitarist L.C. McKinley died in East Chicago, Indiana, aged 51.

19.01.1977. Charlie Daniels and the Marshall Tucker Band played for Jimmy Carter's inauguration.

19.01.1993. Fleetwood Mac reunited to perform at Bill Clinton's inauguration. The band's "Don't Stop" was used as the theme for his campaign.

19.01.1993. Tom Waits was allowed to keep the $2.5 million that a judge awarded him after he sued Frito-Lay for using a sound alike in a 1988 commercial. The U.S. Supreme Court supported the amount of the damages.
