22.01.1908. Long-time collaborator of Sleepy John Estes, Blues harp player Hammie Nixon was born in Brownsville, Tennessee.

22.01.1931. American gospel, R&B, soul, and pop singer, songwriter, and entrepreneur, Sam Cooke was born Samuel Cooke in Clarksdale, MS.

22.01.1949. Blues harmonica player, Cooper Terry was bon Verl Cooper, Jr. in San Antonio, TX.

22.01.1964. The Yardbirds featuring Eric Clapton appeared at The Cavern Club, Liverpool, England.

22.01.1981. American Blues singer, guitarist and bandleader, Blind James Campbell died in Nashville, Tennessee at the age of 74.

22.01.1982. Blues harmonicist influenced by Sonny Boy Williamson II and tutored by Little Walter, Big Leon Brooks died of a heart attack in Chicago, IL at the age of 48.
